What’s the difference between a short link and QR code?

At Menu Guide we refer to the links that menus are attached to as ‘short links’. Often these get confused with QR codes. It’s important to know the difference in terminology as we use the term ‘short link’ throughout this documentation and our systems.

A Short Link is: A URL #

A URL is a web address that specifies the location of a resource on the internet. It typically starts with “http://” or “https://” followed by the domain name. Menu Guide urls (short links) are always in the format https://mnu.mx/(unique name to identify your menus)

QR Code (Quick Response Code) #

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that can store information such as text, URLs, or other data. It can be scanned using a smartphone or QR code reader to access the embedded information.

Short links and QR Codes #

A QR code contains a short link in its encoded data. When scanned, the QR code redirects the user to the specified URL, allowing quick access to your menu.
