The Menu Assistant supports the following input formats:

  • PDF (.pdf)
  • Word Document (.doc or .docx)

How to Use the Menu Assistant #

  1. Select AI Tools: In the head menu navigation, go to ‘AI Tools’ > ‘Menu Assistant’. You will see how many free uploads are available this month and any previous uploads.
  2. Prepare Your Document: ensure your PDF or Word document is well-organised and contains the necessary menu items.
  3. Upload Your File (this must be smaller than 6mb in size): select the ‘Upload my Menu’ option within the Menu Assistant interface to upload your document. This may take several minutes. You will be emailed when the menu is ready to view.
  4. Review: once uploaded, review the automatic extraction of menu items, customise the layout and make content changes as needed.
  5. Preview: Use the preview button to see how your new Menu Guide menu will look.
  6. Use your menu: Click ‘Use Menu’ from the interface to create a new menu or edit an existing menu using the generated menu structure. Add allergens and dietary options as desired.

Tips for Best Results #

  • Use clear formatting: ensure that your PDF or Word document has clear headings and structured lists for better extraction.
  • Limit complex graphics: minimise the use of embedded graphics or complex layouts as they may affect the output quality.
